Meet Rev. Ian Lynch
Rev. Ian Lynch began serving as pastor in July 2021. He began ministry nearly four decades ago in Salem, Massachusetts at a church that birthed a mission outreach to hungry and homeless people. He served briefly with the Massachusetts Conference UCC and the Massachusetts Council of Churches before pastoring churches in central Massachusetts and northeast Ohio.
He was drawn to Waterville UCC not only because of the vision to serve those on the margins, but because of the bold move to choose mission over maintenance of property. The future of church is likely to look more like the first church, a responsive gathering beyond walls, rather than the sluggish institution tied to a building it had become.
Ian lives in Waterville with his wife, Gina, daughter, Angel, and mother-in-law Pat. Returning to New England brings them back in proximity to most of their children and grandchildren as well as to Gillette Stadium where he hopes to finally see his beloved New England Revolution win the Major League Soccer Cup. Aside from being a long-suffering soccer fan, Ian is a hardcore birdwatcher. He is the only person to have been on the winning teams at both the World Series and Super Bowl of Birding.

Praying for Rain
YHWH will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore. ~Psalm 121:8 The first question non-birders always ask about the World Series of Birding is about how cheating is prevented. Well it can't be and that is sort of the point. The...
No Trespassing

What’s in a Name?
And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. He said, “Abba, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me, yet not what I want but what you want.” ~Mark 14:35-36...
