You Are Welcome Here

No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome at Waterville UCC! Come and join us in worship, either online or in person – you can get involved and make a difference here.

Mission And Commitment

Seeking to walk in the Way of Jesus, we are an Open and Affirming church, faithfully using what we have and who we are to serve those on the margins of our community. No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!

Seeking To Walk In The Way Of Jesus

The early Christian church was called “The Way.” We like that! The Way of Jesus, as we experience him, is the way of justice and mercy, forgiveness and love, healing and hope, community and care, right-relationship and peace, and, above all, grace.

Open And Affirming

We are an Open and Affirming Church of the United Church of Christ. That means we, as a church, are committed to full inclusion for LGBTQ+ persons. We mean it! This stance has been a part of our communal life for over a decade now.

Who Is On The Margins?

Perhaps it is the Trans teen who has been kicked out of their home, or a refugee, or maybe just someone who needs a bar of soap and some toilet paper. In our current climate, it may be our Muslim neighbor, local Synagogue, or the earth herself.

This Is How We Do It

We take action and get stuff done! We are a joyous, hard working, and often-irreverent bunch, with a lot of heart. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve God through our service to the greater Waterville community.

Our Guiding Principles

We are an Open and Affirming Church of the United Church of Christ. That means we, as a church, are committed to full inclusion for LGBTQ+ persons. We mean it! This stance has been a part of our communal life for over a decade now.

Embracing Inclusivity and Service

Our Focus On Community And Service

Our core values are rooted in love, acceptance, and service. We believe in creating a nurturing environment where all individuals can explore their faith and spirituality. By fostering a sense of belonging and compassion, we aim to make a positive impact within our community and beyond.

Our Helping Ministries

Starfish Village Ministry

Starfish Village serves and advocates for those who are homeless, facing homelessness or who, for other reasons, struggle to acquire or maintain necessities to live safe and dignified lives. We provide assistance when help is denied elsewhere and sometimes in partnership with other agencies.

The Essentials Closet

The Essentials Closet is a resource for folks who need personal care and household items, located at our church. We are on the lower level of The Elm, 21 College Ave, Waterville. It is open the last two weeks of the month on Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m., Thursdays from 5-7 p.m., and Fridays from 9-11 a.m.

Paul’s parting words to the Ephesians were a humble brag, mostly because he had, in fact, set a good example in his time there. If you were saying farewell, could you lift up your life as a model?
